Bio:
WIP Username: Muttgirl310 (On DA and TH), Mutt (On Discord) Name: Icarus Story: The viscet fell to the earth, his wings folded up against him and his eyes fluttering with the air hitting his face. He was just starting to think he was going to hit the ground when he was caught by another flying figure. Now that air wasn’t hitting his face so harshly, Icarus could open his eyes, looking up at the viscet that had caught him and smiled in relief, “Oh, thanks for the catch.” The viscet looked down at Icarus, “Don’t mention it.” The viscet brought Icarus down to the ground carefully and rested him on the ground, “Mind telling me why you were plummeting to the ground?” Icarus grinned and stretched out on the ground, now that he wasn’t falling to his death his mood had lightened, “Well I guess I lived up to my name. I flew too close to the sun.” “Your name is Icarus?” The viscet questioned and Icarus nodded, “And you flew to the sun?” Icarus chuckled a bit, “No. But I tried to. I flew too high and didn’t take into account how little oxygen is up there. I passed out and well, you know the rest.” “I do indeed.” The viscet looked at the boy and sighed, “That was pretty stupid of you. You could have gotten hurt, or hurt someone.” The viscet replied and Icarus rolled his eyes. “Hey, I just got these wings last week! I wanted to test them out.” Icarus snapped, hurt by the stranger’s statement. “Just got them? What do you mean? Weren’t you born with them?” The viscet moved closer and Icarus ignored him, rather focusing on the stranger’s wings. He was fascinated to see them waiver slightly behind the viscet and was admiring them closely. He extended a paw to them and the stranger swatted his paw away, “Don’t. Now answer my question. What do you mean you just got your wings?” “Man, aren’t you a delight.” Icarus muttered and then leaned back on the ground once more, “I just got these wings. I was in a study to see if it was possible to graft wings onto non-flying viscets. I was one of the successes.” “A study?” The stranger questioned and Icarus nodded slightly but was obviously not too convincing. “What was this study called? It certainly doesn’t sound legal. Experimenting with biological traits isn’t allowed.” The stranger looked the young viscet over with narrowed eyes. “Well I never said it was a legal study. It was called the Icarus study. My real name is Subject 456 but when I escaped, I figured Icarus fit better. I didn’t know what else to call myself.” Icarus looked away and the stranger studied him for a moment. They sat there in silence for a while, neither one really moving or making a sound. Icarus stared at the ground, trying to avoid the stranger’s inquisitive look and avoid answering any more questions. “I’m Zephyrus.” Icarus looked up startled to see the stranger extending a hand to him. Icarus took it and smiled weakly at the stranger, “Nice to meet you Zephyrus.” Zephyrus carefully pulled the boy up to his feet and supported his weight, “Alright Icarus, let’s get you some food and a warm bed to sleep in. It sounds like you deserve it. After that, I’ll teach you how to fly properly.” |
