Bio:
Linus is the smaller of the two boys that Valkyrie adopted but hasn't let it stop him from getting to where he wanted to go. He took after his mother in her love for traveling and found himself at a garden called House of Angels where he fell in love with one of the gardeners, Fera. While he does not stay at the gardens, he makes sure to return often enough to visit his mate and now his daughter as well. He is a quiet kid but in a situation that he feels comfortable in, he is quick to brighten right up and be a good conversationalist. He has lots of stories to tell of his travels and helps the garden out by bringing them plants from all over as he travels. Much of Fera's and Helia's gardens are his favorite plants from his own travels. |

Stories
Valkyrie walked along her normal route to the river, Strath flying above and slightly ahead. She tensed slightly when Strath dove down at something on the ground, just off the path she was on. She crept over and found Strath sitting on the edge of a nest. Valkyrie shook her fur to calm the bristling at the base of her neck and approached the nest slowly.
"Strath. Lets go. I want to catch some fish before it gets dark." Valkyrie spoke quietly but Strath remained on the edge of the nest. Valkyrie slipped closer and noticed there was something in the nest. It caught her eye as they blues and browns were unlike any bird egg she had ever seen.
"Strath. What kind of bird made this nest?" Valkyrie asked calmly, knowing that Strath had studied many of the birds along their travels.
"This nest belongs to a Northern Bobwhite but seems to have been abandoned long ago. This egg is much to big to be a bird egg however."
"Then what is it?" Valkyrie asked her companion who shrugged and then looked back at her.
"One way to find out!" He had an excited look in his eyes as he crawled into the nest and scooped up the egg. He stumbled back over to Valkyrie with it, the egg almost as large as he was and she carefully took it from him. She examined the egg closely but couldn't see any signs of what animal may have left it here. Valkyrie and Strath took the strange egg with them to the river and Strath watched over it while Valkyrie caught some fish. Once their bellies were full and there were a few fish to bring back to the cave, the pair started on their way back home.
As she carried the egg, she remembered back when Strath had been an egg himself and remembered fondly how she had helped her adoptive care for him. She rested the egg on her own bed and she started setting it up in a nest like shape for it. She had seen her wyvern mother do this before but Valkyrie couldn't have imagined how hard it was to get the proper shape. After enough struggling, Valkyrie settled for a slightly deformed circle and curled up around the egg.
During the night, Valkyrie was awakened by a shifting of the egg and a soft crackling sound. She eagerly jumped up, waking Strath in the process and moved to watch the egg. Strath joined her as they watched the egg crack open and a tiny snout poke out. Valkyrie leaned over the nest slowly and looked down into the egg to see a tiny little viscet curled up inside. She smiled at the little one as he looked up at her excitedly. His tail wavered around within the egg, almost tipping it over, and he gave off a few little squeaks as he looked up at his adoptive mother.
"He is adorable! What shall we name him Valk?" Strath looked at her with a big grin on his face.
"Well you said he was in a Northern Bobwhite's nest? Why not Colinus? The scientific name for bobwhite."
Strath smiled and nuzzled the little viscet before whispering, "Oh little Col"

For Col's first birthday, Uncle Strath took him to the old nest where he had been found and helped him collect bobwhite feathers from the freshly abandoned nest. Strath had been watching the nest for weeks now, just waiting for the most recent batch of hatchlings to leave with their mother before bringing Col as he didn't want to scare the little ones away. After collecting a couple of feathers that were in good shape, Strath helped Col fix them to the end of his tail as a gift. Col loved the little feathers clinging to his tail, and he loved that he shared the name of their former owners.
