Bio:
Estrello grew up in a supportive and loving family, but he always struggled knowing that there were others that did not. He became very close to Revera because of this and adopted her into the family because she had none of her own. He has also been known to do kind things for other viscets out of nowhere. He has a love of sewing and amphibians, including his companion Twig, which is an Amazonian Leaf Frog. He works hard and has made it clear to Revera that she will always be welcome to live with him, no matter what. He looks out for the young viscet, knowing that she needs the support as she will never get any older than she is right now. |

Stories
Estrello was never too big a fan of animals like his family. Uncle Prairie had Crow, his Pine marten and Mom had Alo her Kingfisher. Even Amaya was drawn to butterflies like mother was. But Estrello never cared much for the furry or the winged animals that his family did, in fact, he didn't find any animals all that interesting. He loved watching his family and the connection they had to the animals however.
The same way that he was never drawn to animals, animals were never drawn to him. No animals favored him and even Crow preferred his sister to nap on then himself. I mean I guess animals could sense his unamusement with them and chose those who grew giddy at their presence. Estrello sighed softly as he stood to leave the cave where everyone was lounging after the morning chores. He strode into the woods thinking to himself why he still felt unhappy that the animals did not care for him. I mean granted, he didn't have too much care for them either but still, he felt like he was missing out.
As he walked, he found his paws sinking in the mud from the rain that past through during the night and decided to stomp around a bit to have some fun. He enjoyed the sloshing of the mud under his toes and fooled around, soon covering himself from muzzle to tail, no longer any thought of his previous troubles on his mind. He found himself laughing even, to nothing particularly funny, just life itself.
With his fur thoroughly caked in mud, he headed towards the stream to rinse off, so as to not give him mother a heart attack at the sight of his filthy form. He ducked into the water, filling the clear water with mud for a moment before it was all swept away and he floated for a bit before diving below the water. While under the water, he swam to a small pool right off the edge of the stream where the water was calm and he could just sit. He surfaced and found himself staring right into the eyes of a little frog perched on a lily pad.
They both seemed shocked at the sight of each other but Estrello figured why be surprised, it is a frog on a lily pad after all. That's where frogs usually are. But there was something about this frog that caught his fascination, he had never seen a frog of this coloring before. He peered closer, and as if his snout growing closer to the frog was an invitation, the little frog climbed up onto his nose. He pulled his head back, even more surprised that this frog decided to settle itself on his nose. He picked himself up out of the water and went to lay on the bank, with the little frog clinging to his muzzle with its sticky feet.
He lay there for hours, studying the frog and remarking at its coloration. He decided it must not be from around here and wondered how it had ended up coming here. He watched it, fascinated finally by an animal, and the frog watched him for a while before closing it's eyes to rest. Estrello couldn't believe it, could he have actually found an animal that cared for him?
Estrello too closed his eyes to sleep, his brain weary from how much he had been studying the little frog. When he woke, the frog was no longer on his snout and Estrello felt a pang of sadness. Had the frog really left him? He lifted his head up to look around for the frog but couldn't see it anywhere. He stood and decided he had been gone long enough and should get back to the cave before his mother and father became worried. He walked back towards home, being careful to avoid the mud to keep mother from scolding him about tracking dirt inside. He was greeted at the entrance by Amaya who was about to head off to study buterflies, her journal in hand as well as a guide that mother and Uncle Prairie had made on identifying them.
Amaya smiled at Estrello as he walked towards the entrance and then noticed his sad face, "Oh brother. What is it? Something happen out in the woods?"
Estrello didn't feel like talking much about it so he just shrugged and walked past her. He heard her giggle slightly before running off and wondered what that was about. He walked into the cave to find mother serving some dinner, Amaya must have eaten early as mother would have never let her leave without eating first.
"Hey honey, how was your afternoon?" Azura asked as she dished the soup she had made and handed it to him.
"It was fine," Estrello said as he took the bowl and sat down to eat it.
Azura frowned at his tone but knew better than to push him. She went to go wake Firefly for his meal when she noticed something about Estrello. She laughed softly before approaching him.
"You have a little hitchhiker there sweetheart," She carefully caressed his ear and showed him what had been clinging to it this whole time. On her paw was the little frog, looking up at him with wide eyes.
Estrello felt a surge of happiness, he hadn't left him! Merely climbed up where Estrello could not see him! Once seeing Estrello again, the frog hopped right onto his nose and settled himself there again. Estrello couldn't keep the smile off his face as he saw his little friend settle back onto his nose and saw mother smiling down at him.
"Seems like you found a little companion there huh?" She asked and he nodded carefully to avoid jostling the little shape. He now knew why Amaya had giggled once she left, it probably was pretty funny to see a little frog clinging to the back of his ear. How funny this little guy was, clinging to Estrello like a leaf or twig.
"Yes mother. And I think I will name him Twig."
