Bio:
A curious and active young viscet, Azura is always in need of knowledge and it is no surprise since she was raised by Prairie who is an encyclopedia of information. While she did travel with Prairie often in her younger years, she doesn't have the same drive to explore as he does so she tends to remain in one spot for a while, investigating everything she possibly can. She still loves many of the topics from her childhood including butterflies, flowers and plants in general. With her however, she is up for anything including quiet moments with loved ones or full on travels with family. She loves it when Prairie brings her back gifts from his travels and keeps most of them in a hollow tree that is her main den. She does venture from it often but always finds herself coming right back to it as if it is the center of her world. |

Story(unlimited words):
Azura has always loved butterflies because of her adoptive uncle Prairie. Her first memories are of Prairie teaching her all the different kinds of butterflies: swallowtails, monarchs, morphos. He even took to calling her butterfly as a term of endearment. I guess it is no wonder that Azura still loves butterflies even now to this day.
There was one day in particular that Azura can remember. She was out in a field with Prairie when she spotted a pop of color in the grass. She quickly bounded over to see a butterfly she had never seen before. Azura carefully wrapped her paws around it, being cautious not to bend the delicate wings. Oh how excited she had been as she raced back to show him the little gift she had found. Prairie had been lounging nearby, taking in the warmth of the sun when Azura returned with the butterfly. Azura had always been curious and full of energy which Prairie found charming. Upon opening her paws the butterfly fluttered to sit upon her should and Prairie studied it a bit.
"Ah, that is a pretty one you have there." He said as they both watched it stretch it's wings.
"I have never seen this type before. Do you know what it is Uncle?" Azura asked before it fluttered around her and landed on Prairie's outstretch paw.
"I do believe it is a Limenitis arthemis astyanax. Also known as a Red-Spotted Purple butterfly." He answered before blowing on it carefully.
The butterfly took flight and landed on Azura's muzzle. She giggled as she looked down at the butterfly as it unrolled it's tongue and licked at her fur. Azura carefully shook her head, sending the butterfly into flight. The butterfly soared around the pair for a few more moments before gliding across the field of flowers to resume its search for nectar. Azura went back to searching for butterflies but doesn't recall finding any others that day.
For some reason that butterfly sticks in her mind more than any of the others, even though there were plenty of other days filled with butterflies. That individual butterfly, a Red-Spotted Purple butterfly. What a funny name for a butterfly.

Stories
Azura was cleaning her den when she found a scrapbook tucked under her bed. So thats where it had gone. She pulled it out and started looking through the different flowers and plants that were organized within. She worked on this scrapbook with Michigan as they collected plants and pressed them.
She remembered when she had first met Michigan, she had seen him in a field collecting flowers and then pressing them between stones. She enjoyed watching him and then went over to meet him. He didn't say much at all after introducing himself and Azura figured he may just be shy. Determined to be friends with him, she returned home to find Prairie back for a visit.
"Uncle Prairie? Do you know how to make something to press flowers with?" Azura asked.
"Press flowers? Certainly. I can show you how to make a press out of some wood and a belt." He said before gathering up supplies.
They worked during the night to make the press and the next morning Azura brought it with her to the field to find Michigan. When she saw him, she eagerly brought him the press and he smiled at the such care that was put into making the press for him. She then sat down and helped him press flowers. He was so excited to try his new press and enjoyed the times they spent together pressing different flower species they found. Prairie would find unique flowers and bring them back for Azura to show Michigan and then they would press them and organize them in a scrapbook. Michigan would carefully attach them to the scrapbook and Azura would write the common and scientific name next to it in her neatest handwriting possible.
Azura smiled and scooped up the scrapbook to go meet Michigan for another round of pressing flowers. This time she was excited to show him the newest flower Prairie had brought her.

Azura and Fletcher were inseparable as children because of their constant travels with Prairie. Azura knew how to take care of Fletcher better than anyone else and always was able to cheer him up when he was down. One such time was after Prairie had fallen and hurt his leg. Fletcher was crying from worry as Prairie was treated in the hospital cave and Azura set to work to make something to cheer him up. She started gathering up flowers to make into a surprise for Fletcher. Once she was just about done collecting flowers she summoned him over to come help. She built the crown and placed it gingerly on his head, only to laugh as it fell lopsided.
She was glad to see him laugh with her and they were able to work on the crown together, distracting him from the cave where Prairie was. Once his crown actually fit, he set to work making one for her to wear. With their new flower crowns, they went to go check in on Prairie and share their joy with him, he always loved seeing what the visclings had made.
